CoMote - Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 16/04/2026
CoMote allows for streaming motion data (i.e. accelerometer, gyroscope) from the smartphone to desktop applications using either the OSC protocol or Websockets. CoMote is especially designed to enable real-time interaction between gestures/movements and sounds in creative and artistic applications.
IRCAM built the CoMote app as a free app. CoMote is provided by IRCAM and is intended for use as-is.
This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of personal Information.
In short, if you choose to use CoMote, Ircam will not collect, use or share your personal information with anyone.
Information Collection and Use
CoMote does not collect any personal information.
The application does acquire data from your device sensors (i.e. accelerometer, gyroscope) but this data is only sent in real-time over the network according to the configuration you choose, and it’s not stored in the device. In any case, this data will be neither collected nor stored by us.
The application may require access to your device’s camera to scan configuration information from QR-Codes. These configuration information — which are used to populate the Settings panel of the application — are stored only on your device and not shared with anyone else. You can edit or delete these information at any moment in the Settings panel of the application.
The app does not use third party services that may collect information used to identify you.
Log Data
We want to inform you that whenever you use CoMote, your device ID – more precisely the IDFA, a random device identifier assigned by Apple to a user’s device – may be collected to create Crash Data logs which track errors that occur when launching an update and that are collected when a new update is requested
Cookies
CoMote does not use nor collect “cookies”.
Links to Other Sites
CoMote does not contain links to other sites, except to the current page.
Children’s Privacy
CoMote do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
